The Hi-EFECTS consortium held its face-to-face project meeting on 19–20 November 2025 at Stolt Tankers, Rotterdam.
The meeting was excellently organized by Stolt Tankers, who also presented their strategy for reducing emissions across their global fleet. Stolt Tankers is a leading global provider of chemical and bulk-liquid product transportation services, operating the world's largest and most sophisticated fleet of tankers.

During the two-day program, partners shared progress on both experimental and numerical investigations of marine alternative fuel combustion, including results from combustion chamber experiments and detailed CFD simulations. Further discussions addressed fuel cost dynamics under maritime regulatory frameworks (EU ETS, FuelEU Maritime, IMO Net-zero Framework).

The meeting also included contributions from Nordic Energy Research (NER), focusing on potential future funding opportunities and collaboration in green fuel research.

The Hi-EFECTS consortium includes NTNU, World Maritime University, Lund University, Aalto University, Wärtsilä, and Stolt Tankers, will continue to work on innovative solutions for low-emission marine propulsion.
