From May 26–27, 2025, the HI-EFECTS project team convened at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway, for a dynamic two-day meeting.
Participants from NTNU, SINTEF Ocean, Wärtsilä, Lund University, Aalto University, Stolt Tankers, and the World Maritime University gathered to discuss progress on innovative fuel technologies under the Nordic Grand Solutions Programme, funded by Nordic Energy Research.
Key technical sessions focused on:
- Hydrogen, Ammonia, and Methanol as alternative marine fuels
- Gas mixing and engine integration challenges
- Experimental validation and simulation models
The team also visited NTNU and SINTEF Ocean’s test facilities, gaining deeper insight into advanced fuel research for maritime applications.

We sincerely thank NTNU Trondheim for their warm hospitality and excellent organization. Together, we are paving the way for a greener, safer, and more resilient maritime future.
